If you answer yes to any of these questions, chances are that you could have asthma. Be sure to make an appointment with your doctor and find out for sure. It may not be great news if you are diagnosed with asthma, but with proper measures, you can lead a perfectly normal life.

1. Do you get short of breath when climbing a couple flights of stairs?
2. Does it take you longer than most to catch your breath during physical activity?
3. Do you avoid exercise since your breathing gets too difficult?
4. Have your coughed, wheezed, or felt short of breath when you were exposed to certain things like cats, tobacco smoke, perfumes, or chemicals on the job?
5. When you get a cold, does it tend to go to your lungs and last longer than the usual 7-10 days?
6. Do you wake up during the night or in the morning with coughing or shortness of breath?
7. Do you feel that you have to clear your throat constantly?
8. Are there a lot of allergies, eczema, or asthma in your family?
